Kit Strathairn

Always interested in creating, Kit experimented with every sort of craft from pottery to basket-making, but it wasn’t until 2001 when she did a City & Guilds Course in Machine Embroidery, followed by Patchwork & Quilting that she felt she had found her niche in textiles!

Colour is her passion and she loves the many ways of using colour, especially dyeing fabric.

Kit enjoysall types of textile work from felt-making, to book forms, but stitch always brings her back to centre. The current collection has printmaking elements behind the textiles.

Painting landscapes with watercolours has been a holiday hobby for many years, but with so much more time on her hands, she has enjoyed this new direction.
