Gail Stirling Robertson

Gail’s paintings tend to take ordinary or familiar places and move them into the realm of the storybook. A tumbledown shed can become a shelter for witches, or a woodland path can reveal an incongruous door or telephone box. By making small adjustments to structures, largely overlooked features such as chimneypots become more animated, giving a painting a whimsical edge. Stories, real or imagined, are everywhere, and hopefully this collection will make you ask ‘who lives behind this door’?

Gail is a self-taught painter, living and working in Perthshire. She paints mostly with acrylics but also dabbles in pastel, pen work, watercolour and oils.

As well as exhibiting her original work Gail has a selection of prints and cards available in the gallery. Gail will be back with original work as part of the exhibition beginning on 20 July.
