Robert Ryan
Born in Glasgow, Robert has trained in both metal work and stained glass arts.
While living in Australia he travelled in Asia, Indonesia and New Zealand where he has been inspired by the extraordinary colours and materials he experienced.
Robert's current mixed media work involves applying paint and lacquer to glass then adding elements such as metal, crushed stone and shell to create layers of remarkable colour, depth and texture. There is a feel of steampunk about some of his pieces.
