Fiona Guinan - The Station Cat Pottery
Fiona is a creative crafter and potter, living on a farm near Pitlochry, in beautiful highland Perthshire. The farm is arable, and they have rivers, woodland and fields all around them that are full of wild flowers, animals and trees. Fiona's studio is an upcycled 1950's Railway Carriage on the farm, where she also has a gallery which is open from Easter to October.
Constantly inspired by the natural world, her collection of animals and a love for traditional music. These find their way constantly into her work.
Fiona tries to reuse discarded objects from around the farm and musical friends often give her pieces of old instruments, to upcycle into creations, giving them a new life and helping our environment.
Working in a clay that turns black in the firing, Fiona often burnishes her pieces so they can be fired only once without the need for a glaze.
Fiona's creative process is fun, often this creates pieces that inspire others and she enjoys making people smile!
