Our Team

Angela Thomson

Angela established Artisanand, opening in August 2014, mainly with artist friends. After a career in management consultancy this was a chance to work using her skills to represent other artists and develop her own art.

Managing the gallery impacts Angela's ability to work on her own Harris Tweed art. At least having the workshop in the back of the gallery allows all the team to turn their hand to something creative when the mood strikes. It's also where Angela runs her framing business from.

Lorna C Radbourne

A stained and painted glass artist who is also known to paint too, mainly watercolours. Lorna is based in Dunning where she has her garden workshop and mini gallery displaying her own and fellow artists work, in Catriona Studio.

Lorna's work can always be found in the gallery, she also particpates on the hanging team and so every six weeks when we rehang the gallery's latest exhibition she helps arrange the works. Without her it wouldn't look as amazing as it does!

Tilda & Alfie - the gallery hounds

Tilda joined the team in 2018 at nine weeks old, Alfie in the summer of 2025 at 8 weeks old. Both are happiest greeting visitors over the sales desk gates. Both these hounds love to be the centre of attention and are happy to let us know when they're not getting quite enough attention!

Accessibility

Our front door is wheelchair accessible, and once inside, the public part of the gallery is all on the ground level with wide walkways enabling the art to be appreciated from a distance. The gallery has one small step at the front door which is between 2-4cm high, we're on a slight hill. The door is 79cm wide, if opened fully it will remain open until physically closed.
